Move a live SaaS from AWS to DigitalOcean in a morning with a coding agent
Anand Rathnas moved his URL shortener jo4.io off AWS, where it cost about $120 a month, to a DigitalOcean setup costing about $44. He started at 6 AM and finished by 10 with live traffic and, he says, no downtime. Claude Code wrote GitHub Actions workflows to create the droplet, managed Postgres and storage. When a run failed, it read the logs through the gh CLI and patched the workflow. It fixed a Postgres SSL setting, database owner errors, Cloudflare origin certificates, an nginx rule that broke page routes, and a front end pointing at the wrong API variable. He estimates the old way at about six weeks. The numbers are his own account.
