Turn long AI chats into notes saved straight into your repos
A Hacker News user doesn't trust ChatGPT's memory, so they keep their notes in git instead. They linked ChatGPT to the GitHub MCP server and gave it access to three or four repos. Each repo has an AGENTS.md file, and a standing instruction has ChatGPT open the matching file when a session begins. After a long chat about some topic, they ask it to write up what was said and save it as a file in the right repo. Over time those files track talks, decisions, and ideas for later research, and AGENTS.md points to them. It took some work to set up. They say it makes the AI far more reliable than built-in memory.
