Two Home Assistant users had Claude help them build new home dashboards. The first, u/ElementZoom, spent a weekend turning their old YAML dashboards into custom web pages. The tiles move and change with each device's state and the room temperature. There's an energy page fed by smart plugs, camera feeds you can switch between with two-way audio, and song lyrics that stay in sync. To stay safe, they never linked Claude to their system. They pasted files into the chat and added the API token by hand. The second, u/iamtherufus, drew a tablet layout in Figma and worked with Claude to hook it up to lights, heat, a robot vacuum, cameras, and an alarm. Share the method, not the files, since each home's devices differ.
