Explore warehouse data in plain language through Slack, VS Code or the CLI

GitHub built Qubot so employees can explore its data warehouse without waiting on an analyst. A question posted in the Qubot Slack channel spawns a Copilot Cloud Agent, which replies in the thread and saves a markdown report in a pull request; the same agent works in VS Code and the Copilot CLI. Context is federated: product teams document raw telemetry, the data team maintains query examples and required filters, and dataset owners define business metrics, all loaded at run time through the GitHub MCP server. It queries Kusto by default and switches to Trino for heavier joins. Hundreds of employees now run thousands of queries, routine questions in the data channels fell sharply, and curated context made answers three times faster.
