Triage a personal inbox every day with a locally hosted model

A Hermes Agent user runs free open models through Ollama on their own GPU and schedules a daily job that sorts and actions their personal email in a Getting-Things-Done style. They shaped the requirements themselves and used Claude Code to build the setup, including a custom MCP server. It is reliable enough for everyday use and they are extending it to travel planning. The thread's consensus: local models are fine for simple scheduled automations like this, but going local takes a lot of configuration and isn't suited to heavy coding.
