Pick a browser agent for everyday logged-in web tasks
One user tried six browser agents on real tasks that need a login. The tasks were applying for jobs, signing in to pull data, posting for them, and fixing API problems. The lineup was Perplexity's Comet and Computer, Manus, ChatGPT agent, and two Playwright setups run locally. Comet came out best overall, because it runs inside the user's own browser where they're already signed in. Manus did good work but cost too much to use every day and still got caught by bot checks. ChatGPT agent did the worst, and the local setups failed even easy tasks. The lesson: agents that open a fresh browser in the cloud keep hitting login walls and bot checks.
