Run a home server by installing a coding agent on it as your sysadmin

Jordan Fulghum had long wanted to self host but found the setup work no fun. He bought a Beelink mini PC for about $379, installed Ubuntu Server and Tailscale, and put Claude Code on the box itself. Then he described outcomes in plain words. The agent set up Docker, Compose files and Caddy, and installed Vaultwarden, Plex, Immich, Home Assistant, Readeck and Uptime Kuma, each in its own container. It also one shotted a small status dashboard and set up daily backups of 25 years of photos to a USB drive. All 14 containers together barely load the machine, using a small slice of processor and memory. He calls it the first time he would recommend self hosting to ordinary tech users.
